Apple's new AI-powered Siri feature in iOS 27 requires users to join a waitlist rather than becoming available automatically upon updating. The rollout began September 14, with Apple implementing eligibility requirements and a phased activation process to manage demand. Users must manually sign up for access to the enhanced Siri AI capabilities, which explains why many who updated to iOS 27 found the feature unavailable immediately. Apple has not disclosed the specific timeline for waitlist clearance or full feature rollout.
