Perplexity launched Comet, an AI-powered browser for iPhone on March 18, introducing what the company calls an "agentic" browsing experience with a built-in assistant. The browser integrates with Apple Health, allowing its AI to access health data to answer medical questions—a feature that drew immediate scrutiny from observers concerned about privacy implications. Comet enables users to query information across open browser tabs, positioning itself as a new paradigm for mobile web browsing centered on AI-assisted tasks.
